Our planning application to Reigate & Banstead Council was submitted by our architects and accepted by the Council on 1 April 2011 – our neighbours were formally told on 5 April and the ‘target determination date’ is 27 May 2011.
The plans (below) are for a redevelopment of the joint Banstead Guides/Wessex Garage Doors site, the aim to make the best of the whole site for the benefit of both organisations. Essentially the new buildings are aligned parallel to the Brighton Road, with the Guide HQ behind Wessex.
On the plan (which you can enlarge by clicking) The Drive is on the left, and the new outdoor area to the right. The outline of the existing HQ and entrance are shown dotted. The new HQ is single story of solid construction with a metal tile (slate-like) roof, double glazing and three parking places on-site (and two cycle racks!)
