Brownie & Rainbow Disco / EcoKids collection

Games, drinks and snacks available to play / purchase – light supper included. Tickets £3.50 per person. Please make sure all coats / belongings are named.

We are arranging for EcoKids to collect our old clothes, toys, etc.   Bags can be brought to the Disco on the 28th and are being picked up from the hall at 3:30pm on the 30th January. Please tell all your friends to hang on to their things to donate to us!  I will be distributing bags to Units shortly.

EcoKids supply us with bags but if you fill it and still have more items to donate, then any other plastic bag(s) will do.

They can accept the following items

  • Good quality, dry clean clothing
  • Soft Toys
  • Pairs of shoes
  • Handbags
  • Books in good reusable condition (in a separate bag/box, please)
  • Net Curtains
  • Bed Linen
  • Small portable electrical items in good working condition (excluding all TV’s) *
  • Costume Jewellery
  • Bric-a-Brac **

They cannot accept the following items

  • Poor quality, wet, stained, mouldy or ripped clothing
  • Quilts, duvets & pillows
  • Heavy curtains
  • Carpets, mats, rugs CD’s, DVD’s, Audio & Video tapes and TV’s
  • Furniture
  • Metal and wooden heavy items
  • Magazines
  • Computers and accessories

* SMALL PORTABLE ELECTRICAL ITEMS (in good working condition). For example: table lamps, toasters, hairdryers, clock radios, can-opener, toothbrush, cd player, coffee grinder, juicer.

** BRIC-a-BRAC: During the Victorian era, collections of various ornaments were often* displayed around the house (collecting dust!!!), such as on the mantle, on shelves, and in decorative curio cabinets. Popular bric-a-brac objects we typically consider knick knacks today include: small vases, figurines, decorative teacups,  picture frames, small bowls, trinket dishes and other small ornaments.
